"I
am entering my 21st year in education, and I am excited beyond words to
be the manager of the
Lowden Theater for the Performing Arts here at
the Las Vegas Academy. Even though I will not be in the
classroom,
I define myself primarily as an educator. I was born
and raised in Grayling, Michigan and received my B.S. in
Education with
an emphasis in Theatre Arts and English from Central Michigan
University in 1971. I received

an M.A. in Theatre
Arts from
Southwest Missouri State University in 1975 where
I trained in the
acting program with John Goodman, Kathleen Turner, and Tess
Harper.
After working (and struggling) as a professional actor
for several years (I met my wife,
Cyd, during a production of
Comings
and Goings) I began my
career as a teacher
in 1983 at Bishop Gorman High School where I taught
Theatre, Speech, and English.
In 1993 I took over the Theatre
program at Green Valley High School and so enjoyed
20 years of great
theatre experiences and superlative students; many of those students
are
still working professionally in New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los
Angeles,
and London.
"During four years of early retirement,
Cyd and
I traveled through Europe, I earned my
SAG card, performed on a
semi-regular basis as a singer/guitarist at The Olive in
Green Valley,
worked for Starbucks (I make a mean cappuccino), and taught
communications for CSN.
"Cyd and I have a daughter, Amber, who
graduated from The American Academy of
Dramatic Arts in Pasadena and
who can now say, 'Would you like fries with that?'
in 15 different
dialects and with great emotion.
"My office is located in the lobby of
the Lowden Theater. If you need any information or help with the
Lowden,
don't hesitate to visit me. I am here to help you."
